Bells for Suzanna

The day the bells rang for Suzanna, the the black flag hung from the churchtower. The sky was grey and the church was packed. Filled with old women with firm black shoes under their black dresses and young mothers with dyed blond hair folding their hands quietly on their laps. The altar boys looked so serious, bringing the coffin to the grave, wearing nike air max under their white dresses.
